Welcome to my world of creativity, situated in a charming studio near Amsterdam, where I devote myself to the patient and loving craftsmanship of gourd lamps. Creativity has always been my companion, and now, with gourds, I've discovered an expressive form that truly resonates with me.
In this small atelier, I channel my patience and passion into each gourd lamp, creating pieces that reflect not just light. And so every new project begins with a close examination of their unique shapes and textures. Whether enjoying graceful curves or embracing natural quirks, each gourd tells a story that guides my artistic expression.
Equally important for futher processing is the consistency and thickness of the shell, as the drill reacts differently depending on theses characteristics - but that’s the challenge!
Over time, I've cultivated a distinctive style marked by a unique palette of colors, patterns and carving.
As the dried gourds are exceptionally lightweight, I've chosen to impart a substantial weight to the lamp bases for stability. This ensures a well-balanced lamp. All lamps leaving my workshop are equipped with a CE certification for their crafted lamp base.

2024 was my second year as an independent lamp designer, and I look back on it as a wonderful and succesful year. Two major Dutch magazines (Landleven and Seasons) featured my work with a six-page photo report each. You can find the article on my instagram account.
Additionally, I was honored with an award for my lamps at the Bathmen art market.
Now I am looking forwaerd to 2025 with ecitement an curiosity, eager to see what new experiences and creative challenges await.
